Overview

PlayVS Cup is the annual national amateur esports championship — the highest competitive stage in the PlayVS ecosystem. I led marketing and partnership execution for the 2025 edition, a two-day virtual event that brought together competitors, creators, casters, and industry partners across a live multi-platform broadcast.

Campaign Components

The event broadcast live across Twitch, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok simultaneously, maximizing reach across the platforms where our audience already lives. The production was supported by industry gamers, game publishers, professional creators, and experienced casters who elevated the broadcast quality and provided built-in audience amplification.

Zenni came on as Presenting Sponsor for the 2025 event, earning significant reach and brand recognition throughout the broadcast and across all promotional channels. The partnership was structured to integrate Zenni’s brand naturally into the esports context, reaching a tech-engaged, visually active Gen Z demographic.

Across two days of competition, 14 champions were crowned across 12 game titles — a scope that reflects the breadth of PlayVS’s game library and the diversity of its competitive community. Scholarship awards totaling $113,000 were distributed to winners, reinforcing the educational mission at the core of the PlayVS brand.

Results

The event generated 200K+ social impressions, 30K+ video views, and 11,800+ total Average Concurrent Connected Viewers (ACCV) across the broadcast. These numbers reflect a highly engaged audience — not passive impressions — tuning in to watch competitors they know compete for meaningful prizes.

PlayVS Cup 2025 demonstrated that scholastic esports can produce broadcast-quality live events that stand alongside professional productions while keeping student achievement at the center.
